Hans Gál: Music for Chamber Orchestra
Hans Gál • Reijo Tunkkari (violin); Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra; Jan Söderblom (conductor)
About this release
This programme brings together four of Hans Gál’s most appealing works for small orchestra: the Serenade for String Orchestra, Op. 46, Divertimento for Small Orchestra, Op. 22b, Concertino for Violin and String Orchestra, Op. 52, and Music for String Orchestra, Op. 73. Performed by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra under Jan Söderblom, with Reijo Tunkkari as violin soloist, the album offers a concentrated portrait of Gál’s lyrical, classically poised orchestral writing.
