About this release
The booklet (released ahead of the December 2025 launch) notes that this CPO disc brings together three chamber works spanning Gál’s career: the substantial String Quintet Op.106, the compact and lyrical String Quartet No.4 Op.99 and the early Five Intermezzi Op.10. The performers are drawn from the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra and emphasise the music’s balance between Viennese elegance and contrapuntal sophistication.
